Swellendam |

Berry flower -
Youngberries are full in bloom during October and fresh berries are available
from November to December. Frozen berries are available throughout the year |

A ripe youngberry is full of antioxidants and vitamins. Good to use in smoothies,
breakfasts, jams. tarts scones, cakes, milkshakes, etc. |

All the berries on The Berry Farm -
SGAF are handpicked and sorted. Then we individually quick freeze them. These
IQF berries are available throughout the year at The Berry Farm |
The Berry Farm - pick your own!
On
the Berry Farm we grow youngberries,
blackberries and blueberries (all
excellent antioxidants and wonderfully healthy!). Harvest time is from
the beginning of November until approximately the 20th of December for
the youngberries and blackberries. Blueberry season is from the end of
November until mid January.
Remember
to phone beforehand if you plan to pick berries - to make sure which
berries are available. Bring your own containers and we will weigh the
containers and then charge per kilogram for the berries picked.
Overall,
the best time to pick is from mid November until the second week in
December. During harvest time we IQF (individually quick frozen)
the berries. They are
loosely frozen and packed in 1kg and 5kg bags and in boxes of 12kg or
14kg. We sell the frozen berries throughout the year. We also make our
own liqueurs, jams and syrups from the berries so come and browse
around our farm store.
